Got Questions?
What is the difference between LUXE and Zendura?
There are a lot of similarities between LUXE and Zendura, especially regarding both materials long lasting nature. They both are super strong and resist microcracking unlike other common thermoforming materials. One difference is that our LUXE material is clearer than Zendura. LUXE is on par with many attributes that Zendura has.
So which material do you recommend?
We will continue to offer Zendura as it has been a brand name retainer material and it will take the market some time to adjust to another material. We will however discontinue our Essix line of thermoplastics as LUXE far exceeds Essix in every attribute. We recommend giving LUXE a try if you haven’t before. At least that way you can be the judge of which material you’d like to stick with.
Can you do resets with the LUXE material?
Yes, we totally can. While previously we never recommended resets with the Essix material, we can now stand by resets being as effective as Zendura with our LUXE material. Resets on post treatment retainers are an economical way to finish those minor corrections you need to make. The price for a single tooth reset is $10. This is often much cheaper than another 3-5 aligner setup.
How many resets can you do?
We only recommend 3-4 teeth per arch for patient comfort, since the material isn’t as flexible as our aligner material.
Do you still offer Essix material?
We do not. Essix is an inferior material in our opinion. The Vivid Product line only offered this line to provide a lower cost option for practices who really wanted it. Now we now longer need to compromise cost for quality. LUXE will replace all essix retainer materials.
What is the thickness of LUXE?
LUXE us an 040 or 1mm thickness. This is the best thickness for invisible retainers.
So how the heck can you offer LUXE that much cheaper?
Simple, material costs, automation, and internal efficiencies. I know, it sounds like a bunch of buzz words, but the fact that it is our own material allows us to lower our cost and in turn pass those savings on. We have also introduced some amazing automation into the retainer making process which cuts down on manpower needs and increases the consistency of your product. Don’t worry, these are still hand finished and inspected for the VIVID quality you know us for.
I am currently using ODL but am using Zendura, but I want to use LUXE instead, how do I do that?
Super easy, just text us, call us, or email us and we will change your templates to reflect the new material use.
